Gatehouse Holiday Cottage offers Self-Catering accommodation for up to four people. An ideal retreat for an escape holiday set in scenic Highland Perthshire.
Built in 1922, the Gatehouse is of a traditional stone construction with white harling and a slate roof. The house is above an arched gateway at the entrance of the former driveway to Meggernie Castle. Due to its construction the rooms are spread over three separate levels. Access is via a stone staircase on the exterior of the property.
On the first level you’ll find the bathroom with w.c., wash hand basin and shower over bath.
On the second level there is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine.
The sitting room has a south facing picture window with stunning views over the River Lyon.
There is a flat-screen television with Freeview, WiFi and payphone. The wood burning stove (logs provided) and oil fired central heating ensure that the house is warm all year round.
The third level has two bedrooms. The bedrooms can be arranged to have either two single or one kingsize bed per room. From one bedroom there is access to a roof balcony also overlooking the river.
There is adequate external parking and a garage/store/drying room.
Duvets, pillows, linen and towels are provided.
Well behaved dogs are welcome (up to a maximum of 2) but must be kept under close control at all times and must not be allowed onto any of the furniture within Gatehouse. There is an additional charge of £30 per week per dog.
Please note that smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the property.
